Prompt 27: Ordinary Joy {via Reverb 10}
"Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments. What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year?" (Author: Brené Brown)
Recently I was sitting at the breakfast table after everyone had gotten up and moved on to do other morning activities. I was enjoying a hot cup of coffee and thinking about all the things I had to do that day, when the kids ran through the room, one after the other, shouting seemingly nonsensical comments to each other. The kitchen was a mess, the kids were deafeningly loud, we had a busy day ahead of us, and my husband was off doing something, and that's when it hit me: These are the days of my life. These are the moments that make up my life. Even tidying the house and going to the grocery store and folding laundry contain so much life. Ordinary life. And I felt true joy and gratitude in all the ordinariness before me. I feel it now just thinking about it.
