Not unlike millions of other baby girls born in the late 70's and early 80's, my name is Jessica---pronounced jes-sic-kuh, in case you were wondering---and despite how rampant my name is, I still---STILL!---get called Jennifer sometimes. Jennifer! I realize this is just one of the many crosses Jessica's around the world have to bear, and a minor one at that---note how we have to compete with the likes of Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Biel, and Jessica Rabbit (for crying out loud!) And if that's not bad enough I also happen to have a "universal face"---I get told that I look like a million different strangers all the time, with comments like "you look so familiar...where do I know you from?" and "are you related to so-and-so?" or "you look like such-and-such. Doesn't she look like such-and-such who works at the whatchamacallit?" So in case it's not already obvious, Music Monday is dedicated to all the strangers I have an uncanny resemblance for, and to John's late grandfather who called me Jennifer for the first 10 years of our marriage. Happy Monday!

I was seriously tempted to make Lou Bega's Mambo #5 the last song because there are, like, NO good songs about Jessica out there, but I decided to go with something a bit more sarcastic...

I can relate! My name is Suzanne, yet my own uncle called me Susan for years! : )

Awesome post! There is an old Allman Brothers instumental song titled "Jessica." You can guess where my name came from :)
Oh gosh, if we could only count the times we have been called Jennifer!!
